Resident Evil Village Battling Online Leaks
Resident Evil Village leaks have been popping up online but most likely you won’t be able to see them since Capcom has been doing everything possible to take them down, as reported by Eurogamer. The clips that are coming out aren’t only clips from the Maiden demo, but completely new scenes that showcase encounters with Resident Evil Village’s popular Lady Alcina Dimitrescu. After debuting a showcase focusing on the game, Resident Evil 8: Village has quickly become a big talking point online, with players discussing the game’s creepy new setting and callbacks to Resident Evil 4.
Now if fans are trying to stay away from Resident Evil Village spoilers, they need to be extra cautious going forward. Major video game leaks have apparently gone up in the recent years for example both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us Part 2 were leaked before their official release date.
Lady Dimitrescu’s Real Name Is Goddess Of Fertility
Dimitrescus is Demeter the Greek Goddess of fertility.
The official Resident Evil twitter account tweeted that, Lady Dimitrescu is 2.9 meters tall, which is about 9’6″. These measurements include both her heels and floppy wide-brimmed hat.
But where was the idea for this character taken from?
Interesting Facts About the Greek Goddess Demeter
Greek Goddess Demeter rewarded a kind man by attempting to make his baby immortal by placing him in a fire. But the mother was able to catch the Goddess in the act and get the baby out of the fire. Demeter is often pictured with flaming torches since that is what she used when searching for her daughter.
Demeter was one of the most unpredictable goddesses. Typically, she was calm and nurturing all though in a split second her mood could change. Just one little insult would cause her to go into a crazy rage, if she received bad news it would cause her to become hysterical and then an endearing sight would instantly send her back into a gracious mood.
Surprisingly, the surname Dumitrescu is actually a lot more common in Romania. Even though Dimitrescu is a pretty common name, it’s interesting that Capcom decided to make the slight alteration. But on the other hand, the comparative commonality of Dumitrescu just might be the reason why they decided to make a slight change.
While it’s unlikely that Demeter herself will play a role in Resident Evil Village, it’s certainly interesting to note the goddess is associated with some of the images and ideas we’ve seen in Resident Evil 8 so far.
Since Demeter is the goddess of the harvest, grain, and fertility, it’s understandable that she isn’t only recognized by rural villagers who depend on the harvests but Lady Dimitrescu whose reliance on her “daughters” suggests some kind of infatuation with fertility.
When Dracula boards the Russian ship to sail for England, the name of the ship is Demeter. To keep his strength he brings boxes of soil, which I guess you could relate it with the idea of fertility if you want to stretch the concept.
In any case, this is yet another connection between Lady Dimitrescu and vampires.
