Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard, is a Japanese video game series and media franchise created and owned by Capcom. The franchise follows individuals battling outbreaks of zombies and other monsters created mainly by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corporation.
As most of you know, all tragical events started in the year 1998. When the Raccoon City Police Department dispatched their elite unit S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team to investigate a series of bizarre murders on the outskirts of the Midwestern city.
The original Resident Evil 2 was released in 1998 and has sold over 4,960,000 copies and was hailed as a gaming masterpiece and propelled Resident Evil into mainstream pop culture and the entertainment you know today.
The action centers around rookie cop Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they fight to survive a mysterious viral outbreak within Raccoon City.
A series of strange disappearances have been occurring in the American Midwest within a place called Racoon City. A specialist squad of the police force known as S.T.A.R.S. has been investigating the case and have determined that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella and their biological weapon, the T-Virus, are behind the incidents—though they have lost several members in the process. Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and the other surviving S.T.A.R.S. members try to make this truth known but find that the police department itself is under Umbrella’s sway and their reports are rejected out of hand.
Where are we now with RE?
Over the past two decades, this horror and action scene has unfolded in countless installments. Being the most recent. RE 2 Remake, RE 3 Remake and RE Biohazard. This last one, being one of the most successful Capcom games.
Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.
Resident Evil Village is an upcoming survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom. It will be the tenth major installment in the Resident Evil series, and the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
Towards the end of the announcement trailer, Ethan questioned Chris’ presence and was shocked when he shot someone out of view point-blank. The identity of the person Chris shot remains a mystery, but many speculate that it could be Ethan’s wife, Mia Winters. Capcom producers recently teased Chris’s role in Resident Evil 8, and here is everything that has been revealed so far.
Tsuyoshi Kanda and Peter Revealed, the producers of Resident Evil 8, tell us important details and why not say it, keys, to understand what this sequel will bring us before our eyes.
Ethan is brought to the village by Chris. Where it is revealed that Chris is working for a special squad called, Blue Umbrella.
In the expansion of RE7 Biohazard, we are told that, there is certain displeasure on the part of Chris against Blue Umbrella since this was established after the fall of Umbrella Corporation.
But the question we all still ask ourselves is, if Chris has allied himself with characters who work with genetic terrorism like Umbrella did or, if somehow, Chris has changed his mind about helping other people and becoming a villain.
What To Expect In Resident Evil Village?
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Village will conclude the story of Resident Evil 7. In an interview with Famitsu (via GamesRadar) Capcom’s Tsuyoshi Kanda and Peter Fabiano said that the game will not only address the cliffhanger in Resident Evil 7 but will conclude the story completely.
I’m only talking about RE8 right now but people know RE4 is also coming up at this point. RE8 will be the longest RE Engine game to date, & without saying too much the other stuff coming up should follow a similar trend,” they wrote.
We were able to witness that we will not have problems with the duration of the game’s plot such as the rain of complaints from fans of the franchise with the RE3 Remake.
And the RE4 remake is on the way. So, we must enjoy for a while.
Regardless of this, Resident Evil 8 may still see some sort of release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point in the future, be it on or after the next generation versions launch. Resident Evil 8: Village is planned for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
According to a reddit post where a user got their hands on some documents that share some form of a multiplayer present in Resident Evil 8 (Village) better known as Village Online.
While a dedicated Multiplayer was absent in Resident Evil 7 and had a dedicated round of single-player DLC, this does come as a surprise especially with the contents of the multiplayer title updates leading well into 2022.
But tell us, with all the RE Village trailers, what would you like to get in this game or what things would you add?
Do you think the RE 4 remake is a better installment than the past remakes 2 and 3?
